Jackson Jade Founder

Jackson Jade Speech & Occupational Therapy was founded by Renée Firby, M.S. CCC-SLP. Ms. Firby began her career as a school-based speech-language pathologist in 1999 where she provided speech, language, and swallowing services to preschool through high-school aged children with varying disabilities from severe medical and cognitive challenges to advanced students with mild impairments. Her passion for medically-based speech pathology services led to employment in medical settings including hospitals, rehabilitative clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health services. Ms. Firby has provided speech-language pathology services to infants through geriatric populations ranging from mild to the rarest and most severe impairments. Her dedication to the profession and extensive experience naturally led her to the private practice milieu where she was able to offer her expertise to clients at one location.

Ms. Firby has attended the University of Saskatchewan, Minot State University, California State University, Northridge and Loyola Marymount University. Renée has earned Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees and is licensed by the California State Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, holds a national Certificate of Clinical Competence by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, is a member of the American Academy of Private Practice in Speech Pathology, holds a clear Clinical Rehabilitative Services Credential from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing, has been honored as a recipient of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Award for Continuing Education, and holds numerous certifications making her a leader in the industry. Ms. Firby has travelled extensively and has been invited to provide education and development in the areas of speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
